Meeting Minutes
Present for the June meeting were Anita, Deb, Mary, Andrea, and Julie W. We were pleased to have guest Peggy P. Visitors Peggy R., Gretchen and Rosemary came from the Indiana Gourd Society and our program presenters Dot and Vickie from the Ohio Gourd Society.
Show and Tell
Andrea brought her cute doll based on a Julie McCullough pattern with a sweet doily skirt.

Guest Peggy shared her doll making interests and brought a wonderful mermaid doll and a witch marionette she had made.

Business
Andrea conducted a brief business meeting with a recap of our fun May meeting with the Doll Circle group.
Program
Dot and Vickie came from the Ohio Gourd Society and shared information about their October Show and Festival. Be sure and visit their website: www.ohiogourdsociety.com. There is a special competition for figurative art dolls. Information to enter is on their website. There are some amazing workshops that are being offered which can be seen on the website. It is amazing what this group does with gourds including making figurative art dolls.
Dot and Vickie presented a make-it take-it program on making our own gourd dolls. Attendees made their own art dolls from materials Dot and Vickie so graciously provided.
Peggy R., Gretchen, and
Rosemary told us about their Indiana Gourd group that meets each month and makes gourd projects in Greenfield Indiana.
Dot and Vickie brought many samples of gourd artwork to inspire us. Following are pictures of things they brought.

Our members then got busy creating their own art gourd doll. How fun to make these one-of-a-kind pieces of art! Thank you, Dot and Vickie, for your wonderful presentation with tips and tricks on working with gourds and for the inspiration you brought to all of us!
Next Meeting
Our next meeting is Saturday July 19, 2025, at the Irvington Branch Library at 10:00 a.m. Our meeting room is on the right upon entering the library.
