Before Show and Tell, we had three guests join us! Janet L. found out about us, saw our blog and came bearing Show and Tell. She liked us so much she joined right away! Jamie was visiting her friend Darcie while her family attended GenCon. We're lucky it coincided with the meeting, because Jamie is also a new member. Welcome ladies, we hope you enjoy your time with us.
Show and Tell
We had several Bridgets join us, fresh from the class with Lucy Landry. Lucy was a lovely instructor and a very sweet person. Thank you for teaching us so much, Lucy!
Janet brought two adorable calico birds. She loves the dollmaker Ann Wood, who specializes in owls and birds. Since we were having an Artist Trading Card workshop, Janet also shared her ATC collection. They are stored in a special album she made herself.
Ann C.- Bridget |
Maggie had some good news. She won a an award at the State Fair in a sewing contest sponsored by the French Seam. Congrats Maggie! She promised to show us next meeting.
Julie W. completed her Bridget. Her face is adorable, and her eyes match her purple outfit. The costume is very detailed with gold trim and a lovely hat.
Jude - Bridget |
Leslie's Bridget is almost finished. This one is so sweet, with an innocent face and yellow and green costume. Leslie has even beaded her a necklace and trimmed her leggings and dress in yellow.

Erin has been working on her Fae and Habitat challenge. She made cute mini sewing supplies while on vacation. These fabric bolts and balls of yarn are 1:12 scale.
Ann R. also brought her finished Bridget. She made a cute shawl with antique fabric that matches the dress perfectly.

The Bonnie Round Robin- Stage 1 |
At the September meeting, Andrea will be giving a demonstration on wing making in time to work on the challenge dolls. Your fae doll doesn't have to have wings, but let's face it. Most of them will. You are welcome to bring your favorite examples of wings, but no supplies are necessary.
Julie put together a wonderful workshop on Artist Trading Cards. ATCs are playing card size artworks that are meant to be traded. Julie created kits with fabric, a face stamped on muslin and beads, etc. Then we went to work on our own ATC. Julie was even chosen to have some ATCs in the book 1,000 Artist Trading Cards, and received the ATCs in trade. Wow!
Our group diligently working on ATCs |
Here we are working on the ATCs. Thank you, Julie for a wonderful program!
