August 19, 2023 Meeting Minutes
Present at the August meeting were Julie G., Kathryn, Ann C., Julie W., Sue, Virginia, Andrea, Katie and Mary.

Show and Tell
Kathryn told us about a fun crafting family get together she had in New Hampshire.  She shared a fun pumpkin and a pen set, and an awesome mouse automaton she had made.  The mouse is holding a piece of cheese and revolves around.

Andrea told us about classes at John C. Campbell Folk Art School.  She and her mom plan to take classes in October.  What fun she will have and be able to share with us after they get back.

Business
Sue shared an idea she had for next year's charity project to perhaps make fleece blankets to send to a charity.
Sue is contacting a possible guest instructor for spring 2024 probably April 27-28.
We discussed having another open house similar to our epb day in 2024.
Ann C. passed out new business cards and postcards she had printed.
Round Robin dolls were revealed.  Unfortunately, one of the participants was unable to attend, so there will be one more to reveal perhaps next meeting. Dolls that were completed belong to Leslie, Julie, Sue and Virginia.

Program
Andrea presented a program about disposition of our sewing rooms and doll collections.  So many things to think about that we should be doing for the future.  She reminded us that it would be good to print out a hard copy of patterns.  CDs are not as common now, so alternative ways to save our information should be considered.  Labeling our dolls is something some are doing but would be a good idea for all of us to do.  Andrea gave us a handout to make a Sewing Room Inventory.  Included should be items we have made, sewing machines, furniture, fabrics, craft supplies, books, patterns, collections, and UFOs.

Next Meeting
For our September meeting, Sue will be demonstrating how to make Japanese Cloth Flowers.
Our next meeting is September 16, 2023, at the Irvington Branch Library at 10:00 a.m.  Our meeting room is on the right upon entering the library.
