It has been decided we will exchange angels at our annual Christmas party for those who want to participate.

Our program this meeting was on coloring a cloth doll face based on a video by Patti Culea titled "Cloth Doll Making" available to purchase online at Dollmaker's Journey.  Her video is extremely well done and very helpful on many aspects of making a cloth doll.

Next Meeting
Our next club meeting is September 21.  Payments for Show and Sale tables ($15 per person) are due at the September meeting.  Maggie will be taking the payments.  The program will be about how to put hair on your doll and finishing techniques. Techniques such as wefting, felting, and use of Tibetan Lambs hair will be shown. This will complete our doll making series and completed dolls will be presented at our November meeting.

Suellen Odell's Margot Class

Suellen Odell's Margot Class

Labor Day weekend some of the Indy Cloth Dollmakers got together at the Irvington Library to make Sue's Margot doll.  She is a beautiful doll who sits on her custom made divan.  Sue taught us how to do some body shaping and face sculpting.  We learned how to make her bloomers, corset, partlet (which we learned was a sleeveless garment worn over the neck and shoulders, or to fill in a low neckline), a ruff( which is a projecting frill worn around the neck) and slippers.

This class was great fun.  Sue is a fabulous teacher willing to share her doll making knowledge with all of us while having fun doing it!  Thank you, Sue!!!

Watch for future blogs featuring our finished Margots!
