Show and Tell

Ron made a wonderful version of Bridget, full of fun patterns. He says Julie only helped a bit.

Mary is working on a crochet Raven from Teen Titans, it's awesome!

Jude made a made a mug rug with a black and white print fabric that she colored with fabric crayons, then ironed to set the color.  Cool technique!

Katie showed off two outfits she made using re-purposed clothes.  One was made from a corduroy dress, and the other from a man's shirt, and both were stylish!

Martha has been quilting, and finished the shopping themed quilt for her granddaughter.  She also took a quilting class, and finished a sampler quilt.
Janet's butterfly scarf

Janet made some infinity scarves with gauzy material, and they were so cute!

Business Meeting

Our Slate of Officers for 2015 was accepted as follows: Julie G- President, Andrea- Vice President, Erin- Secretary, Jude- Treasurer, Maggie- Publicity.  Special thanks to Leslie and Katie for all their work as President and Publicity Officer for the last several years.  We really appreciate all your effort!

Merry Christmas!
Julie G has a contact at the Irvington Methodist Church (a block from the library) which has a large parlor that we would be able to rent for the next Show and Sale.  We asked Julie to book the room because it is a popular space in Irvington, but we will hopefully be able to take a look at it as a group soon.  The Show and Sale has gotten very crowded, and we will benefit from a larger space that is still close to the Gathering of Artists.

In February we will be creating charity dolls to donate to the Indianapolis Children's Bureau.  Please bring at least parts for 1 doll made from the Scribbles pattern by Cyndy Sieving. We will organize an assembly line, mixing and matching the parts, sewing the bodies and stuffing at the meeting.  It would nice if everyone participated so we have a ton of dolls to donate this year.  We will also take donations of the gingerbread doll pattern.  Let Erin know if you need a copy of that pattern.

I'm sure you're all on the edge of your seats, so here we go.  It was a landslide! The winner of the 2015 Challenge Doll challenge is Leather and Lace!  A cloth doll (i.e. has a cloth face) that incorporates both leather and lace in some way will be due in October of 2015.

We also voted on the workshop artists we'd like to invite to teach in 2015.  We decided on Angela Jarecki in 2015 and Ute Vasina in 2016 (if available).  Cross your fingers that these will work out, they will be awesome classes!

When all of the "business" was attended to, we exchanged presents!  There were so many beautiful fabrics, supplies, and handmade items that we were all in awe of ourselves!

Thank you everyone for another wonderful year!

Next Meeting

Clean out your craft areas!  We are having a swap meet in January, and all your unwanted craft items are treasure to someone else.  Bring anything you're willing to give away and take home something new (to you).

It was suggested that we share our critiques of the Fairy Challenge dolls from Kathryn.  If you are willing to share yours, bring it to the January meeting and we can learn from them.

REMINDER: Dues are due!  Please bring a check for $25 payble to Doll Creators to the January meeting, or send a check to Jude.
