June 17, 2023 Meeting Minutes
Present at our June meeting were Leslie, Ann R., Julie G., Ron, Kathryn, Suzanne, Jennifer, Julie W., Jude, Sue and Virginia. Missing today was our fearless leader who was ill. Wishing Andrea a quick recovery and see you in July! Vice-president Sue stepped in to lead our group.  Leslie was our nametag drawing winner.

Show and Tell
Jude brought her Enigma doll  to show what she had learned from Katie's hair program last month.  She had used rollers to curl the hair.  Great job, Jude!

Suzanne also finished her spirit doll.

Kathryn has been working on making scrapbooks and challenged herself to do one a month.  So far she had completed three. (Sorry I failed to get pictures😞)

Leslie wants to make her spirit doll but is still thinking about what she wants to do.

Sue found an elinor peace bailey "Haute Couture" pattern but no pictures of what a finished doll from that pattern would look like, but never fear she jumped right in and completed this fabulous creation!  Notice the pom-poms enclosed in the netting of the skirt. Amazing work, Sue!

Business
Sue is working on new member packets.  Updating of by-laws and standing rules was discussed.
Plans for our upcoming July meeting were discussed.  This will be our elinor peace bailey tribute day.
Sadly elinor passed away in early May this year. elinor was a special lady who brought joy into our lives.  Several members of our club had the honor of meeting her and learning from her. Our club had planned this day prior to her passing in hopes of sharing the day with her. Members will have epb dolls, books, and patterns on display for all to see. Plans are to have demonstrations for visitors to see how we turn fingers, make faces, how to make a simple beginner doll and who knows what else.  It will be a fun day and we look forward to seeing our visitors.  Open house will end at 1:00 p.m.

Program
Virginia presented a fascinating program on how to correct problems that occur when making a doll face including if the lips are too small, problems with the eyes, too much blush, and correcting uneven eyes. She brought her "Jar of Shame"  that contained heads and faces most people would give up on. This was an excellent presentation, Virginia.  Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and thanks for the informative handout.
