June Meeting Minutes
Present for our June meeting were Martha, Jude, Virginia, Denise, Janet, Jennifer, Ron, Julie G., Katie, Ann C., Kathryn, Leslie, Ann R., Mary, Nita, Julie W., Maggie and Andrea.  We welcomed a guest, Helen who showed us pictures of wonderful dolls she has made.

Jennifer brought a doll that was shipped to the US in 1919 from Paris and has been restored.  What a treasure!

Janet showed us her accomplishments in her make something everyday for a100 days challenge to herself.  Keep it up, Janet, you are doing great!

Denise shared her doll from Marla Niederer's class she took at AFICC this year.  This doll has a very interesting nose constructed with floral wire.

Virginia also had a doll from Marla's class, a Bridget doll, and a Chicken doll she made for the Ohio State Fair.

Andrea's AFICC doll is still in progress.  She shared Natalie Hamade's water color painted head and  a head from Paula McGee's class.  Her Tarot Hermit challenge doll was fabulous.

In old business,  Andrea told us about the donation our club made to AFICC's scholarhip fund.  Our pattern books sold well at AFICC and orders were taken to get more books for those that haven't gotten one yet.  A donation was also made by our club to the Indiana State Museum which will go toward the purchase of acid free storage boxes.  Thanks again to Mary Jane for the tour!
Leslie is working on details for our fall workshop with Barb Schoenoff which will be August 26th and 27th at the Franklin Road Branch library.  She is also working on the spring workshop which will be in March or April, 2018.
In publicity, Andrea added a link on the blog for the 2017 Show and Sale.  Mary will get links from Katie for publicity sites.  Maggie has been working on contacting the other craft group at the church to coordinate the times of our sale.
Leslie reminded us that she has the club tent should we need it in the future for outdoor shows.
Our Round Robin/Brown Bag Doll project was passed on having completed bodies, face, hair and clothes.  The next exchange will be at our August meeting when our dolls will have new shoes!
It has been suggested that for our Christmas gift exchange this year, we exchange our own handmade pin cushions!  Great idea!

Upcoming Meetings
Please note our program change for July.  Andrea will be presenting a program on lace and Kathryn's Dorset button program will be in September.   Andrea's lace program will be about an hour long with lots of world history and pretty pictures included, and she may bring her lace collection for people to see.  That would definitely be great to see!

At our August meeting we will do our charity doll workshop.  Maggie, Virginia, and Denise will bring sewing machines.  Bring your partially made Scribbles bodies, any stuffing you would like to contribute, and basic sewing supplies to complete the dolls.

At the end of our meeting Katie presented a wonderful demo on making doll underwear.  She gave us a handout with instructions she covered during the demo.  Thank you so much, Katie, for sharing your knowledge with us.  These were great techniques we can adapt for our own dolls!
